Safety Travelogue was one of the latest innovations by RigTech to improve academic standards of discerning aspirants of NEBOSH-IGC qualifications. The entire batch had a successful completion of visit to Kochi Metro and travel to understand the most modern concepts and initiatives in HEALTH, SAFETY, WELFARE & ENVIRONMENTAL sectors.
The delegates were excited to describe these findings and experience and also came out with their ideas on further improvements. They had a thorough understanding of the practical application of what they have been studying in classes. They were impressed with the Safety Culture exhibited by KMRL Staff, the safety features such as signs, warnings, displays, fire fighting arrangements and interlocked controls.
They were also delighted to see the access controls, ventilated and air conditioned environment as well as provision for welfare facilities which included MEDICAL ROOMS, BABY FEEDING ROOMS etc. The initiatives of KMRL on environmental sectors was particularly commendable, such as usage of Solar Energy, pollution free operations, planting of trees, development of wall gardens.
Kochi Metro is also noted by its commitments towards the passengers, workers and vulnerable sectors of society like provisions of lifts/ramps for elderly, specially designed toilets for differently abled, employment of ladies (kudumbasree) and transgenders.
In all, the delegates felt elited and the highlights greatly thought provoking. They found the travelogue very useful for their NEBOSH studies, updations and future career.
